Popular for years in Europe, Nutella recently has started making a name for
itself in the United States. Made of hazelnuts and chocolate, this delicious
spread is a delightful alternative to peanut butter in a peanut butter and jelly
sandwich, as well as in ice cream.

INGREDIENTS:

YIELD: 1 QUART

  • 1 cup Nutella
  • ¾ cup sugar
  • 1¾ cups half and half
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • Pinch of salt
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Combine all ingredients in a food processor and purée until very smooth.
  2. Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours, or overnight.
  3. Once chilled, add the mixture to an ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for freezing
