Popular for years in Europe, Nutella recently has started making a name for
itself in the United States. Made of hazelnuts and chocolate, this delicious
spread is a delightful alternative to peanut butter in a peanut butter and jelly
sandwich, as well as in ice cream.
INGREDIENTS:
YIELD: 1 QUART
- 1 cup Nutella
- ¾ cup sugar
- 1¾ cups half and half
- 1 cup heavy cream
- Pinch of salt
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Combine all ingredients in a food processor and purée until very smooth.
- Chill the mixture in the refrigerator for 2-4 hours, or overnight.
- Once chilled, add the mixture to an ice cream maker and follow the manufacturer’s instructions for freezing
