Cooking Time: 21–24 minutes
Total Time: 36–39 minutes
Dietary Consideration: Gluten-Free

INGREDIENTS:

  • Cooking spray
  • 1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
  • ⅛ teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 tablespoon extra-light olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon lemon juice
  • 1 tuna loin (approximately 2 pounds, 3 to 4 inches thick, large enough to fill a 6 x 6-inch baking dish)

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Spray a baking dish with cooking spray and place it in the air fryer basket. Preheat the air fryer to 390°F.
  2. In a bowl, mix together the Italian seasoning, ground black pepper, extra-light olive oil, and lemon juice.
  3. Using a dull table knife or butter knife, pierce the top of the tuna loin at intervals of about half an inch. Insert the knife into the top of the tuna roast, piercing almost all the way to the bottom.
  4. Spoon the oil mixture into each of the holes created by the knife, pushing the seasonings as deeply into the tuna as possible.
  5. Spread any remaining oil mixture evenly over all outer surfaces of the tuna loin.
  6. Place the seasoned tuna roast in the prepared baking dish within the air fryer. Cook the tuna at 390°F for 20 minutes. Check the internal temperature of the tuna with a meat thermometer. Continue cooking for an additional 1 to 4 minutes or until the internal temperature reaches 145°F.
  7. Remove the air fryer basket and allow the cooked tuna roast to rest in the basket for 10 minutes.
