Blackberry and lime reunite once again to delight the taste buds in this refreshing (and refreshingly easy) sorbet.

INGREDIENTS: YIELD:1 QUART

  • 4 cups fresh blackberries
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • ⅔ cup lime juice

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Wash the berries and combine with the water and sugar in a large saucepan over medium heat.
  2. Stirring occasionally, cook the berries until soft and liquidized, about 10 minutes.
  3. Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
  4. Place berries in blender or food processor and add lime juice. Purée until smooth.
  5. Press through strainer to remove seeds, if desired. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
  6. Add to ice cream maker and follow manufacturer’s instructions for freezing.
  7. Try a Pretty Little Lime Bowl: Hollow out limes and fill with sorbet, freeze and serve.
