Blackberry and lime reunite once again to delight the taste buds in this refreshing (and refreshingly easy) sorbet.
INGREDIENTS: YIELD:1 QUART
- 4 cups fresh blackberries
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup sugar
- ⅔ cup lime juice
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Wash the berries and combine with the water and sugar in a large saucepan over medium heat.
- Stirring occasionally, cook the berries until soft and liquidized, about 10 minutes.
- Remove from heat and cool to room temperature.
- Place berries in blender or food processor and add lime juice. Purée until smooth.
- Press through strainer to remove seeds, if desired. Refrigerate until thoroughly chilled.
- Add to ice cream maker and follow manufacturer’s instructions for freezing.
- Try a Pretty Little Lime Bowl: Hollow out limes and fill with sorbet, freeze and serve.
