Prepare to pucker in the tastiest way with this incredible sorbet. You can opt to use the readily available Granny Smith apples, or any other apple that offers a tangy bite.
INGREDIENTS: YIELD:1 QUART
- ⅔ cup sugar
- 1 tablespoon corn syrup
- 1 cup water
- 2 tart apples, peeled and cored
- Juice of 1 lemon
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Place the sugar, corn syrup, and water in a small saucepan; stir over medium heat until boiling. Allow to cool.
- Slice the peeled and cored apples thinly, and drizzle the fresh lemon juice over them. Allow to rest, refrigerated, for up to 1 hour.
- Place chilled apples and lemon juice (if any remains) in a food processor, and purée until smooth. Add in the sugar syrup and process until well combined.
- Add to ice cream maker and follow manufacturer’s instructions for freezing.
