Thanks to protein powder and flax seeds, this morning treat is as thick and creamy as a strawberry milkshake. Feel free to halve the recipe.
MAKES: 4 scant cups (4 servings)
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups plain unsweetened almond milk
- 1 1/2 cups frozen strawberries (unsweetened)
- 1 large very ripe banana
- 8 pitted dates
- 1 tablespoon unflavored protein powder (such as rice or soy)
- 1 tablespoon flaxseeds (whole or ground)
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Add all of the ingredients to a high-speed blender.
- Puree until smooth, about 40 seconds
