INGREDIENTS: YIELD: 1 QUART

  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 1 cup prepared lemonade
  • ¾ cup freshly squeezed lemon juice

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Place the sugar and water in a small saucepan, and stir over medium heat until all of the sugar is dissolved. Allow to cool; combine with the lemonade and lemon juice. Cover and refrigerate until cool.
  2. Add to ice cream maker and follow manufacturer’s instructions for freezing.

 

Additional information:

  • Lemonade stands were first set up by a shopkeeper in New York City in 1879, and they became so popular that the police had to intervene when they blocked sidewalk traffic.
