I love to prepare this citrusy tea for my sons when they’re sick. For a less sweet drink, reduce the syrup.
MAKES ABOUT: 1 3/4 CUPS (2 TO 3 SERVINGS)
INGREDIENTS:
- 2 cups plain unsweetened almond milk
- 1/4 cup pure maple syrup or agave nectar
- 1-inch piece of fresh ginger
- thinly sliced Zest of 1 lemon (yellow part only, no white pith)
- 1 green tea sachet or bag (caffeinated or decaffeinated)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Add all of the ingredients to a medium saucepan.
- Bring to a simmer over high heat.
- Turn off the heat and let sit for 5 minutes.
- Strain into a 2-cup or larger liquid measuring cup with a spout.
- Pour into cups, and serve.
