INGREDIENTS:

  • 3 Low Carb Buns
  • 4 Slices Medium Cut Deli Ham
  • 1 Tablespoon Salted Butter
  • 2 Slices Cheddar Cheese
  • 2 Slices Muenster Cheese

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Bread:
    • Preheat the oven to 350F.
    • In a bowl, combine almond flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix well.
    • In a separate small bowl, add salted butter and coconut oil. Melt in the microwave for 20 seconds, then add it to the dry ingredients bowl.
    • Mix the ingredients together to form a dough. Scramble two eggs and add them to the dough mixture.
    • Add 1 tablespoon of coconut flour to thicken the dough. Mix until well combined.
    • Evenly distribute the dough into a greased cupcake tray, filling each cavity about 3/4 inch.
    • Bake for 18-20 minutes, or until the buns turn golden brown.
    • Allow the buns to cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes before removing. Cut each bun in half to form the sandwich buns.
  2. Sandwich:
    • In a hot pan, fry the deli ham slices until they are heated through.
    • Arrange the cheddar and muenster cheese slices in an alternating pattern and cut them into quarters.
    • Place the ham slices and cheese quarters between the low-carb bun halves to assemble the sandwiches.
    • Heat the salted butter in a pan over medium-high heat.
    • Once the butter is browned, reduce the heat to medium-low and add the assembled sandwiches to the pan.
    • Press down on the sandwiches with a weight (such as a spatula or another pan) until you smell a slight burning aroma. Then, flip the sandwiches to crisp both sides evenly.
    • Once the cheese is melted and the bread is crispy, remove the sandwiches from the pan.
