INGREDIENTS

  • 1/2 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1/8 teaspoon salt
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • Optional garnish: Whipped cream, fresh berries, or a dusting of powdered sugar

 

INSTRUCTIONS

  1. Preheat your oven to 325°F (160°C). Place six 6-ounce ramekins or ovenproof cups in a baking dish.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, all-purpose flour, and salt until well combined.
  3. In a saucepan over medium heat, warm the whole milk until it begins to steam but does not boil.
  4. In a separate bowl, whisk the large eggs and vanilla extract.
  5. Gradually pour the warm milk into the egg mixture, whisking continuously to prevent curdling.
  6. Once well combined, pour the milk and egg mixture into the dry ingredients (sugar, flour, and salt). Whisk until the mixture is smooth and free of lumps.
  7. Pour the pudding mixture into the prepared ramekins or cups, filling each about 2/3 full.
  8. Place the baking dish with the filled ramekins in the preheated oven. Carefully pour hot water into the baking dish to create a water bath, ensuring the water reaches about halfway up the sides of the ramekins.
  9. Bake for approximately 40-45 minutes or until the puddings are set and have a slightly golden top.
  10. Remove the ramekins from the water bath and let them cool for a few minutes.
  11. Optionally, garnish each cup pudding with a dollop of whipped cream, fresh berries, or a light dusting of powdered sugar.
  12. Serve the cup puddings warm or at room temperature, allowing your guests to savor their individual, comforting desserts.
