INGREDIENTS:

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • ½ pound ground pork
  • 1/3 cup dry breadcrumbs
  • 4 minced garlic cloves
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 minced green onions
  • 1 minced small yellow onion
  • 3 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 3 tablespoons grated Romano cheese
  • 3 tablespoons minced fresh parsley
  • 3 tablespoons minced fresh basil
  • Salt and pepper, to taste
  • 1 cup olive oil

 

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Preheat the oven to 400°F.
  2. In a large bowl, combine the ground beef, ground pork, dry breadcrumbs, minced garlic cloves, eggs, minced green onions, minced yellow onion, grated Parmesan cheese, grated Romano cheese, minced fresh parsley, minced fresh basil, salt, and pepper. Mix well until all the ingredients are evenly incorporated.
  3. Roll the mixture into 1½” balls, shaping them with your hands.
  4. Pour the olive oil onto a 2″ × 13″ × 9″ baking pan, spreading it to coat the entire surface.
  5. Place the meatballs on the baking pan, swirling the pan around to ensure the meatballs are coated in oil.
  6. Bake the meatballs in the preheated oven for 25–30 minutes, or until they are golden brown and cooked through.
  7. Remove the meatballs from the oil using a slotted spoon or tongs, allowing any excess oil to drain on paper towels.
  8. Stir the cooked meatballs into your favorite pasta sauce.
  9. Serve the meatballs and sauce over cooked pasta of your choice.
