  • 2/3 cup (150ml) lukewarm water
  • 1 tbsp vegetable oil
  • 1 tbsp honey
  • 1 large egg, beaten, for glazing
  • Rolled oats, for sprinkling

INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Prepare the Dough: In a large bowl, mix the flours, instant yeast, and salt.
  2. In a separate container, combine the lukewarm milk, water, vegetable oil, and honey.
  3. Pour the liquid mixture into a well in the flour mixture and stir until you have a slightly sticky dough.
  4. Cover the bowl with plastic wrap and allow it to rest for 10 minutes.

  6. Knead the dough on the floured surface for about 8 minutes, or until it becomes elastic. Note that the dough will remain slightly sticky.
  7. Shape the dough into a ball and place it in a bowl that has been oiled. Turn the dough to coat it with oil.
  8. Cover the bowl and let it rest for approximately 1 hour, or until the dough has doubled in size.
  9. Shape and Second Rise: Lightly oil a baking sheet.
  10. Punch down the risen dough and knead it briefly.
  11. Divide the dough into 16 equal-sized balls and place them on the prepared baking sheet.
  12. Cover the rolls with oiled plastic wrap and let them rest for about 30 minutes.
  13. Bake the Rolls: Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C).
  14. Brush the beaten egg over the rolls for a shiny glaze and sprinkle them with rolled oats.
  15. Bake the rolls for 15–20 minutes in the preheated oven.
