Soy, Miso, and Ginger Dressing

FOR GRILLED DISHES

Miso, the fermented soybean paste, gives body to this Japanese-inspired dressing, making it appropriate for brushing on vegetables while they are cooking as well as when they are served at the table. Try it on halves of long, slim Asian eggplants, on regular eggplant slices, or on mushrooms, perhaps first zipped up with Soy Marinade. You can also paint this on onion, zucchini, and yellow squash slices on the grill or tableside. As a bonus, it’s a good glaze for grilled scallops, too.

The Soy, Miso, and Ginger Dressing is a flavor-packed concoction that brings together the umami richness of soy sauce and miso paste with the zesty freshness of ginger. This versatile dressing serves as a wonderful marinade, drizzling sauce, or dipping accompaniment for various dishes, particularly grilled vegetables and protein.

The combination of soy sauce and miso paste creates a savory and slightly salty base, providing depth and complexity to the dressing. The addition of freshly minced ginger adds a lively and aromatic kick, infusing the dressing with a hint of heat and earthiness. This dressing strikes a perfect balance between salty, tangy, and slightly spicy, making it an ideal companion to a variety of grilled vegetables, from sweet bell peppers to zucchini and eggplant.

Beyond its use as a grilling marinade, the Soy, Miso, and Ginger Dressing can be drizzled over salads, used as a dipping sauce for dumplings, or brushed onto roasted vegetables. Its bold and distinctive flavor profile can transform simple dishes into culinary delights, elevating them with its umami-packed richness and vibrant zing.

Preparing this dressing is a breeze – just whisk together the ingredients to create a harmonious blend. As the dressing melds with the natural flavors of the grilled vegetables, it adds a delightful layer of complexity that will have your taste buds dancing. The versatility of this dressing ensures that it’s not just limited to outdoor grilling; it can enhance a wide range of dishes, bringing that irresistible combination of soy, miso, and ginger to the forefront.

Incorporate the Soy, Miso, and Ginger Dressing into your cooking routine to awaken your dishes with a burst of savory, tangy, and spicy goodness. Its ability to transform and elevate flavors makes it a go-to option whenever you’re looking to add a touch of culinary magic to your meals.
