Making Oats Cheela:

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, ginger paste, carom seeds, red chili powder, thinly sliced spinach, and salt.
  2. Gradually add water to the mixture and whisk until you achieve a moderately thick batter with a smooth consistency. Ensure there are no lumps in the batter.
  3. Heat a non-stick pan or griddle and drizzle a few drops of oil.
  4. Pour a spoonful of the prepared batter onto the hot griddle and spread it evenly to create a moderately thick cheela.
  5. Drizzle a teaspoon of oil around the edges of the cheela.
  6. Cook on low to medium flame for about a minute or until the underside is cooked and golden brown.
  7. Carefully flip the cheela using a spatula and cook the other side until it’s cooked through.
  8. Once both sides are cooked, remove the cheela from the griddle.
  9. Spread a portion of the spinach tofu filling over one side of the cheela.
  10. Fold the cheela over the filling to create a half-moon shape.
  11. Repeat the process for the remaining cheela and filling.
  12. Serve the Oats Cheela with Spinach Tofu hot and enjoy this wholesome and delicious meal.

TIPS:

  • Batter Consistency: Ensure that the batter for making cheela has a moderately thick consistency. It should be easy to spread but not too runny.
  • Tofu Varieties: Experiment with different types of tofu, such as silken tofu or extra-firm tofu, to find the texture you prefer for the creamy filling.
  • Oil Usage: Use a non-stick pan or griddle to minimize the amount of oil needed for cooking the cheela. This makes the dish healthier.

With the delightful combination of oats, spinach, tofu, and creamy Veggie Mayonnaise, this dish not only offers a burst of flavors but also provides essential nutrients. Whether you’re looking for a quick breakfast or a light lunch option, this Oats Cheela with Spinach Tofu is a fantastic choice that you can prepare in no time.
