This is a tasty way to use the Almond Cheez Spread.
SOY-FREE, GLUTEN-FREE OPTION*, OIL-FREE OPTION**

INGREDIENTS:
- 1/4 cup (62 g) Almond Cheez Spread
- 2 slices whole grain bread (*use gluten-free)
- 1 fresh fig, sliced, or 2 tablespoons (40 g) fig jam
- Vegan margarine or olive oil (**omit)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Heat a sauté pan or panini pan over medium heat.
- Spread the Almond Cheez Spread on one slice of the bread.
- Top the cheez spread with sliced figs or spread fig jam evenly.
- Place the second slice of bread on top to complete the sandwich.
- If you have a nonstick pan, you can grill the sandwich without any additional fat. Alternatively, you can spread about 1 teaspoon of vegan margarine on each side of the sandwich or lightly spritz each side with olive oil.
- If using a panini press, place the sandwich in the hot panini press and close it to flatten the sandwich. If you don’t have a panini press, use a smaller heavy skillet as a press.
- Cook the sandwich on one side until it turns golden brown, approximately 3 to 5 minutes.
- Flip the sandwich and press on the other side for an additional 3 to 5 minutes, or until golden brown.
- Remove the sandwich from the pan or panini press and serve hot.
