A delicious dish that can be made from beef, lamb or chicken, Shawarma is famous across all the Middle East, and has become an Arab Gulf food par-excellence.

INGREDIENTS:
- 2 lbs (1 kg) boneless chicken pieces, sliced into 1/2-inch (1.25 cm) wide strips
- 4 tablespoons freshly squeezed lemon juice
- 4 tablespoons extra-virgin olive oil
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon ground black pepper
- 1/2 teaspoon paprika
- 1 teaspoon Arabian Gulf Spice Mix (Baharat)
INSTRUCTIONS:
- Place all the ingredients in a casserole dish. Turn the chicken pieces until thoroughly coated. Cover the dish and refrigerate overnight to marinate.
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Bake the chicken, uncovered, for 1 hour or until the chicken is fully cooked. The chicken should appear white at the center, and the meat should easily break apart with a fork.
- Serve the marinated chicken as a main dish, accompanied by Saudi-Style White Rice. Alternatively, you can use the chicken to make a sandwich with Pita Bread or serve it on top of a bed of Diced Vegetable Salad with Tahini Dressing.
