Remove the bowl from the heat and continue whisking until it cools, which should take about 5 more minutes.
  3. In a mixer or a separate bowl, beat the softened butter until it becomes fluffy and light.
  4. Gradually beat the whipped butter into the egg mixture, adding it in tablespoonfuls. Add the vanilla extract and whisk until fully incorporated.
  5. If you desire, you can further enhance the frosting’s flavor by incorporating melted chocolate, fruit liqueur, espresso, or any other flavorings of your choice.
  6. To reach a comfortable consistency for spreading, cool the frosting over an ice water bath.
